Privacy Policy

Avant Fashion ("Orientique", "we", "us" or "our") is owned and operated by Avant Fashion Brands. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use and disclose it, and the choices you have. It applies to the Avant Fashion website (the "Website") and to purchases and accounts made through it.

We handle personal information in accordance with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and any applicable provincial privacy legislation (including, where applicable, Québec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector, and British Columbia's and Alberta's Personal Information Protection Acts).

1. What personal information we collect

Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:

  • Identity and contact information — your name, billing and shipping address, email address and telephone number.
  • Account information — your username and password, order history and saved preferences.
  • Order and payment information — the products you purchase and your payment details. Note that full credit card numbers are processed by our payment providers and are not stored on our servers (see Section 6).
  • Wholesale/trade account information — for trade customers, business name, business contact details, and credit-application information you provide.
  • Communications — records of your correspondence with us, including enquiries, returns requests and feedback.
  • Technical and usage information — IP address, browser type, device information, pages viewed, and similar data collected automatically through cookies and similar technologies (see Section 5).

2. How we collect personal information

We collect personal information directly from you when you create an account, place an order, contact us, or subscribe to our communications; automatically as you use the Website (via cookies and analytics); and, in limited cases, from third parties such as our payment, shipping and (for trade accounts) credit-reference providers.

3. Why we collect, use and disclose your information

We collect, use and disclose personal information for purposes including:

  • processing, fulfilling and delivering your orders, and managing returns, exchanges and refunds;
  • creating and administering your account;
  • processing payments and detecting and preventing fraud;
  • responding to your enquiries and providing customer support;
  • sending you transactional messages and, where you have consented, marketing communications;
  • operating, maintaining, securing and improving the Website;
  • assessing and administering wholesale/trade credit accounts; and
  • complying with our legal obligations and enforcing our Terms and Conditions.

4. Consent

By providing your personal information and using the Website, you consent to the collection, use and disclosure of your personal information as described in this Policy. We obtain express consent where required (for example, for marketing emails). You may withdraw your consent at any time, subject to legal or contractual restrictions and reasonable notice — for example, you can unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in any such email or by contacting our Privacy Officer. Withdrawing consent may mean we are unable to provide certain products or services.

5. Cookies and tracking technologies

The Website uses cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your cart and preferences, understand how the Website is used, and (where applicable) support advertising. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling some cookies may affect how the Website functions. Where required by law, we will request your consent before placing non-essential cookies.

6. Payment information

Payments are processed securely through our secure payment gateway and PayPal. Our Website uses Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption. We will never ask for your credit card PIN. Full payment-card details are handled by our payment providers under their own security standards and are not stored on our web server.

7. Disclosure to third parties

We do not sell your personal information. We may share it with:

  • Service providers who help us operate our business — including our e-commerce platform provider, payment processors, shipping and logistics partners, IT and analytics providers, and marketing service providers — who are authorized to use it only to perform services for us;
  • Credit reporting or reference agencies, in connection with wholesale/trade credit accounts, where you have applied for credit;
  • Professional advisors and authorities, where required to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, or protect our rights; and
  • A successor entity, in connection with a sale, merger or reorganization of our business.

8. Storage, transfers outside Canada, and security

Your personal information may be stored and processed by us and our service providers in Canada and in other countries, including the United States, where some of our providers operate. As a result, your information may be subject to the laws of those jurisdictions and accessible to courts, law enforcement and authorities there. We take reasonable steps to ensure third parties provide a comparable level of protection.

We maintain reasonable physical, technical and organizational safeguards to protect personal information against loss, theft, and unauthorized access, use, modification or disclosure. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Retention

We retain personal information only as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes described in this Policy and to meet legal, accounting and tax requirements, after which we securely delete or anonymize it.

10. Your rights — access and correction

You have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you and to request correction of any inaccurate or incomplete information. To make a request, contact our Privacy Officer (Section 13). We may need to verify your identity before responding and will reply within the timeframes required by applicable law.

11. Children's privacy

The Website is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.

12. Third-party links

The Website may contain links to third-party websites and services that we do not control. This Policy does not apply to those sites, and we encourage you to review their privacy policies.

13. Contact us / Privacy Officer

If you have questions about this Policy, wish to access or correct your information, or want to make a complaint, please contact our Privacy Officer:
